Microlab DCC Series® Adjustable Point-of-Interface Solution Chosen for US Bank Stadium Wireless System Deployment
July 17, 2017
Parsippany, NJ, July 17, 2017 – Microlab, a Wireless Telecom Group Company (NYSE MKT: WTT) today announced its new DCC601 Adjustable Point-of-Interface (POI) solution was chosen for the deployment of the wireless system in US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, MN. System designers and integrators were faced with the challenge of adding wireless data capacity today, while ensuring flexibility to meet future demands. Microlab developed a new Adjustable Point-of-Interface approach that reduces the cost of deployment and ownership compared to active DAS. The Microlab passive solution allows carriers to optimize system performance at the initial installation, as well as adjust capacity and coverage for future needs without any additional hardware investment.
"We worked closely with the DAS design team to develop the solution for US Bank Stadium. The main challenges were providing an adjustable passive DAS solution with guaranteed low loss and low PIM performance," said Joseph Debold, Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing. "We developed this solution to provide the highest quality RF coverage and performance, with network performance visibility superior to that of an active DAS, and the ability to accommodate virtually any radio access network at a much lower cost. This solution also reduces the deployment costs by allowing the network components to be optimized after being installed." The patent-pending adjustable Point-of-Interface solution is unique in that it allows signal link budget optimization of the uplink and downlink signals individually without degrading RF performance. This approach provides carriers the combined benefits of visibility into the entire network and independent controls for each antenna.
The new DCC601-B57 and DCC601-B58 Adjustable Point-of Interface integrated solutions are part of the Microlab DCC Series® deployed extensively in stadiums, convention centers, campuses, and medical facilities worldwide. Microlab integrated solutions are designed to the specific requirements of a venue to ensure the lowest deployment costs and maximum performance for multiple carriers across multiple operating bands. The DCC601-B57 and DCC601-B58 solutions were designed specifically to support multiple frequency bands, separate link budget optimization of uplink and downlink signals, and provide independent controls for each antenna. The low loss architecture allows for maximum RF transmission with guaranteed low PIM in solutions that are fully-tested to ensure spec compliance. These products also provide a compact integrated solution for a large multi-sector DAS.
